For many, shopping for the perfect gift for family and friends can put a dent in our pocket books. But, there is a way to shop this holiday and be able to donate to a local charity, at no additional cost to you.
Goodshop is a website and app that allows shoppers to buy not only gifts and gadgets, but groceries and other supplies. The participating stores give a percentage of the total and donate them to a charity of your choice.
According to Goodshop’s website, they are connected with more than 114,000 non-profits and schools. And if your charity is not on their list, you can request them to be added.
They also provide shoppers with contact information to the charity in case they want to do more research into the cause.
A quick search on their website for Lansing shows several organizations that can be donated to while shopping, including Lansing Area AIDS Network, Lansing Area Parents Respite Center, Lansing Area Safety Council, Lansing Charter Academy, Lansing Educational Advancement Foundations and South Lansing Community Development Association.
