Dinner, auction to raise funds for Meals on Wheels, in-home services for seniors

Posted

The Tri-County Office on Aging (TCOA) will host its 32nd Annual Dinner and Auction on November 9, 2017 at the Eagle Eye Banquet Center beginning at 6:00pm. The event features a gourmet meal, keynote address, live and silent auction, cash bar, and raffle. Over one hundred items donated by local businesses and individuals will be available for bidding.

For nearly 45 years, TCOA has helped connect people to services they need to promote and preserve their independence and dignity. Each year, proceeds raised from the TCOA Dinner and Auction benefit in-home services, including Meals on Wheels, for older adults and persons with disabilities.

Jackson National Life Insurance Company is serving as the lead Event Sponsor, with additional sponsorship support coming from Delta Retirement Center, Sparrow Specialty Hospital, Dart Bank, McLaren Greater Lansing, Home Care Alternatives, Dean Transportation, and others.

WILX News Anchor Ann Emmerich and former WLNS News Anchor Jane Aldrich will co-host the evening. Doug Sheridan, of Sheridan Realty and Auction Services, will conduct the live auction. This year’s auction features a week-long stay in the south of France, a two-night stay at the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island, an MSU ticket package for the football game versus Maryland, and more. There will also be a wide variety of silent auction items such as gift baskets, beer and wine tastings, and entertainment packages perfect for holiday gift buying.

Raffle winners will be drawn for a $1,000 grand prize. Raffle tickets are available at TCOA (5303 S. Cedar St, Building 1, Lansing) for 1 for $5.00 or 5 tickets for $20.00. Raffle tickets are also available by calling TCOA at 517-887-1377.

Other special events at the Dinner and Auction include the Arendsen Jeweler Deck of Cards game to win a hand-crafted pendant by Mark Arendsen, and the Heads or Tails game for other prizes.

Additional sponsorship opportunities for the Dinner and Auction are available by contacting the Tri-County Office on Aging at 517-887-1377. Individual tickets are also available online for $60 each until November 3, 2017 at www.tcoa.org/events.
