Dealing with Arab-American stereotypes and misperceptions is among the topics on tap for a Detroit-area conference.
Henry Ford College in Dearborn on Friday will host "Arab Americans: A Spectrum of Identity & Perception. It's being held in the Andrew A. Mazzara Administrative Services & Conference Center.
Keynote speakers include Shadi Martini, director of humanitarian and regional relations for the Multifaith Alliance for Syrian Refugees.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is being presented by the college's Arab Cultural Studies Program.
Dearborn has one of the largest Arab communities in the United States.
