“Delta for Autism Awareness Day” Proclamation Xavier DeGroat Autism Foundation (XDAF)

LANSING, Mich. — The “Delta for Autism Awareness Day” Proclamation was inspired by the Xavier DeGroat Autism Foundation and will take place in the Delta Township Government Building on Monday, March 18, 2019.

Supervisor Ken Fletcher will present a proclamation to recognize April 2nd as International Autism Day and April as National Autism Awareness Month in Delta Township. By signing this proclamation, Delta Township will be the first Mid-Michigan local government to show its support for those with autism.

Event Schedule:

5:00 PM – Dinner will be provided by invitation only by Outback Steakhouse

6:00 PM – Introduction to the Proclamation will be Presented by Supervisor Ken Fletcher

6:05 PM – Xavier DeGroat will speak on why it is important to recognize autism awareness day and month.

6:10 PM – The proclamation will be getting signed and become public

About the Xavier DeGroat Autism Foundation:
Founded in January 2018, the mission of the Xavier DeGroat Autism Foundation is to create and promote opportunities for people with autism through advocacy, education, economic opportunities, and humanitarian efforts. Xavier DeGroat, the Foundation’s CEO and Founder, was diagnosed with autism at age four and has experienced discrimination, economic and job setbacks, and educational difficulties throughout his life. Xavier has decided to dedicate his life to helping others and is working to create a society that better understands autism and enables those with autism to be successful.
