LANSING, Mich. — The Bath Public Art Committee is excited to reveal the Community Mural to the public on Wednesday August 28, 2019, from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Wiswasser Park, 6499 Park Lake Road, Bath. The event will be a celebration of the tremendous support and accomplishments of community artists, and all of the sponsors, that have made this project possible.
The mural’s theme highlights the amenities of the Bath Community, Wiswasser Park and Park Lake, such as swimming, kayaking, and fishing. The mural was created using a “paint by numbers” technique where the picture was drawn onto panels with individual shapes. Residents and community partners then painted within the shapes during three local events, truly making it a "community mural."
Financial support for this project came from the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, and personal donations.
