Charlotte Performing Arts Center Releases Schedule

The Charlotte Performing Arts Center is up and running for another season of must-see events! Tickets are on sale now for several upcoming performances you won’t want to miss!

 

The Eaton Area Senior Center brings its MUSICAL MADNESS to the Performing Arts Center on Sunday, October 7 at 3:00 pm. This community variety show is sure to entertain audiences of all ages! Advance tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for children/students. Adult tickets are $15 at the door on the day of the performance. Advance tickets are also available at the Eaton Area Senior Center. Seating is general admission.

 

RHYTHM SOCIETY ORCHESTRA comes to the performing arts center on Saturday, October 13 at 7:00 pm. Based in the Detroit area, RSO authentically re-creates the sights and sounds of the big band era. The band uses the same music and professionally transcribed arrangements of the original recordings. Miller, Dorsey, Lunceford, Shaw, Sinatra, and more all spring to life! A group discount is available for orders of 10 or more tickets. Seating is reserved. Add a pre-show Chicken Champagne Dinner for just $14.00. Dinner is served at the Eaton Area Senior Center.

 

The Charlotte High School Drama Department will perform Meredith Willson’s THE MUSIC MAN in November. When Harold Hill, a traveling con man, arrives in River City, he convinces the locals to start a band by purchasing uniforms and instruments from him. Librarian Marian Paroo suspects Harild is a fraud, but holds her tongue. As Harold begins to develop feelings for Marian, he faces a difficult decision about skipping town. Performances are November 2 – 4. Friday & Saturday at 7:00 pm, and Sunday afternoon at 3:00 pm. Advance tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors, and $6 for children/students. All tickets are $15 at the door on the day of the performance. Seating is reserved.

 

Be prepared to be entertained by BASH THE TRASH: RECYCLING REMIX on Sunday, November 11 at 2:00 PM. Recycling Remix combines a show, hands-on instrument-building workshop, and a noise and fun parade or jam session. All instruments played by the band are made from recycled materials. The first 50 child ticket sold receive admission to the instrument making workshop! Tickets are $12 for Adults, $10 for Seniors (62+), and $5 for children. A Family Discount will be applied when 4 or more tickets are purchased. Seating is reserved.

 

THE ACCIDENTALS will rock the CPAC stage on Saturday, November 17 at 7:00 pm. Named among Yahoo Music’s “Top 10 Bands to Watch in 2017,” Their adventure began in their hometown of Traverse City, MI when they were just in high school. Having grown up in musical families with professional pianists for fathers and vocalists for mothers, their shared influences bounced between classical, jazz, bluegrass, country, alt-rock, and the obscure. Advance VIP Reserved seats are $20 and

include a pre-show Meet and Greet with the band! Advance Reserved seats are $15. All tickets are $20 at the door. A group discount is available for orders of 10 or more tickets.

 

Your Holiday Season will be complete with TWO fantastic concert band performances! The LANSING CONCERT BAND returns for their holiday concert on Sunday, December 2 at 3:00 pm. Tickets are $10 for adults, $5 for students. Children 5 & under are FREE (ticket required). Seating is reserved.

 

The CHARLOTTE COMMUNITY BAND takes the stage on Saturday, December 8 at 7:00 PM for their annual holiday concert. Advance tickets are $8 for adults, $5 for students and seniors (62+). All tickets are $10 at the door. Seating is general admission.

 

Come in from the cold to experience the MOTOWN EAGLES in concert on Saturday, January 19 at 7:00 PM. Crafting every musical detail with a new precision and amazing voices (there is no pre-recorded trickery), Motown Eagles celebrate an era of this powerhouse rock band with his spanning four decades. Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the door. A group discount is available for orders of 10 or more tickets. Seating is general admission.

 

In February, the Arts for Youth Onstage Experience presents DISNEY’S THE JUNGLE BOOK KIDS. Raised by a family of wolves since birth, Mowgli must leave the only home he’s ever known when the fearsome tiger Shere Khan unleashes his mighty roar. Along the way, Mowgli learns valuable life lessons as his epic journey leads to fun and adventure. Performances are February 1 & 2 at 7:00 pm. Advance tickets are $8.00 for adults, $5.00 for seniors, and $5.00 for students. All tickets are $10.00 at the door on the day of the performance. Seating is reserved.

 

The FABULOUS OLDIES/GOODIES BAND is an authentic 50s and 60s show band based in Lansing, MI. Be prepared to be transported back to the early days of Rock and Roll! This fantastic oldies concert will take place on Saturday, February 9 at 7:00 PM. Tickets are $15 for Adults, $10 for Students/Seniors (62+). A group discount is available for orders of 10 or more tickets. Seating is general admission. Add a pre-show Malt Shop Theme Dinner for just $10.00. Dinner is served at the Eaton Area Senior Center.

 

The CHS Drama department takes the stage again on March 15 & 16 with is Spring Play, GETTING AWAY WITH MURDER. The action centers on seven well-to-do patients meeting for their weekly group therapy session. During a fierce thunderstorm, the patients arrive and soon discover that their doctor has been murdered. Wanting to avoid bad publicity, the patients conduct their own investigation. Advance tickets are $10 for Adults, $8 for Seniors (62+), and $5 for Students. All seats are $12 at the door. Seating is general admission.

 

THUMMp returns this season for another concert with the CHS Choir on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:00 PM. THUMMp has been sharing their unique take on contemporary a cappella for more than 20 years both nationally and now internationally. The group focuses on classic rock and pop with the occasional original thrown in there for good measure. They are focused on "giving back" these days through public school fundraisers, and have raised thousands of dollars for vocal music programs across Michigan. Your support of this concert will benefit the CHS Choir program. Tickets are $15 for Adults, $10 for Seniors (62+), and $5 for Students. Seating is general admission.

 

Our final featured performer of the season is the GREAT LAKES MALE CHORUS ASSOCIATION. The group brings their BIG SING to the Performing Arts Center on Saturday, May

11 at 4:00 PM. GLMCA is an association made up of male choruses from around the Great Lakes area. Tickets are $12 all seats. Seating is general admission.

 

As always, the Charlotte Performing Arts Center is proud to host ALL Charlotte Public Schools concerts, from DK through High School including the CHS Bands’ Band Bounce April 25-27 and the CHS Choirs’ Cabaret May 17-18.
