This is Brad Lyon of Lyon Productions, a motion picture studio now based in Savannah, Georgia that was once located right here in Michigan with offices in Flint. We are returning to Michigan briefly to film scenes for the movie “Thursday the 12t” which stars Brian Sutherland (Grimm/Z Nation), Jena Sims (Kill the Messenger), Marilyn Ghigliotti (Clerks), and myself among other familiar faces.
We are hosting an open public audition at the Westwood Mall in Jackson from 12 PM to 7 PM this Thursday, October 17th. This is both for extras as well as a few speaking roles which we’ll be seeking local hires for.
Personally, this movie is of great sentimental value to me as it was the last film I originally was set to produce in Michigan before relocating. However, during principal photography (filming) my mother, JoAnn Lyon, passed away and we had to shut down filming that December. This is my first chance to return to Michigan and finish what I started some time ago. My father died just 10 months later, and both often worked on my various productions as a Unit Production Manager (Leo Lyon), and a production supervisor (JoAnn Lyon).
I look forward to filming in the Jackson, Michigan area and wrapping this passion project.
Thursday the 12th is a horror comedy in the realm of Tucker & Dale versus Evil meets Evil Dead. Synopsis: Two failed film school graduates closing in on their 30's, the fearful Seth Franco and the unreliable James Rogen, are stuck working the same jobs they had in high school. Life for these two already has its fair share of complications but things are about to get a whole lot worse when the superstitions Seth has for Friday the 13th comes true, only a day early.
