For the third year in a row, the Lansing Board of Water and Light's "Lethal Ladies Tapping Team" walked away with a National Women's Championship.
Today the group had to demonstrate how they tap for water and simulate the installation of a new house water service.
The process includes the installation of a copper line as well as on and off water valves.
One team member told us anyone can do this, if they put their minds to it. "It's a great way for women to see that other women can be in a men's world. I don't work in the water distribution, I'm a chemist, but I can learn how to do it," said Kelly Gleason, Chemist for the Lansing Board of Water and Light.
The Lethal Ladies beat our 10 other teams, their winning time was 2 minutes and 42 seconds. This years competition was held in Chicago, but it takes place in different cities each year around the country.
