LANSING, Mich. — Each week we put together a list of some of the top things to do in Mid-Michigan. Check out our Weekend Top 5 you will not want to miss!

Grand Ledge Color Cruise and Island Festival

October 11-13 - 10 - 5 PM

The Color Cruise and Island Festival is a fall festival featuring the history of Michigan along with crafters and demonstrators such as woodworking, blacksmith, broom making, sewing, painting, quilting just to name a few! There will be a pumpkin patch, balloon twisting, a petting zoo, candle making and lots of see and do. Riverboat Rides as well as Horse Drawn Carriage rides will be available all weekend! There will be entertainment all weekend long by local school groups, dance studios and local musicians.

  • Tickets for admission and all rides are only available at the event!
  • Friday Special for Seniors is available for those 55 years old and older.

Pumpkin Fest Downtown Brooklyn

October 12 - 11-2:30 PM
Bring a can good or money donation for the food pantry and receive one pumpkin per child (Child must be present). Plus free games and actives for the little ones. There will also be hay rides, hair art, bouncy house and much more.

Pumpkin Toss $1.00 Located by Angels Flowers Proceeds go to the food pantry!

Costume parade starts at 12:00, line up at Jan's dance connection.

Annual Fire Prevention Open House
Learn what it's like to be a firefighter! Sit in a fire truck, spray the fire hose, learn about fire safety and more. Families will enjoy treats, prizes and tour the Central Fire Station.

Williamston Pop Up Art & Craft Show
The first Pop Up of the season! A variety of talented artists and crafters will be celebrating fall at our Autumn Open House show. Many mediums and many styles of hand made work from local artisans will be on exhibit and for sale. 11am - 6pm.

Hanover Heritage Park Corn Maze
Octiber 12 & 13 - 12-6 pm

BE AMAZED!!

Hanover Heritage Park Corn Maze will once again be open every weekend in October (Saturdays and Sundays) from Noon to 6:00. In honor of our new Monarch Way Station, the maze is a butterfly design. $4 per person includes a wagon ride around the park as well as the corn maze. Hot dogs, S’mores, and other goodies and drinks are available for purchase to enjoy around the campfire.

Special activities:

October 12, 8:00pm – 10:00pm, Fright Night fundraiser by the HHHS band students. Prepare to be Scared!!

Pioneer Day at Waterloo Farm Museum

October 13 - 12-5 PM

Now in it's 6th decade, this celebration of late 19th century farm life includes tours of the Farm Museum, Dewey School, live music, demonstrations of crafts, trades and traditional cooking methods. Dewey School is open for this event.

Admission - Adults $5, Seniors $4, Children 5-12 yrs $2, under 5 yrs. and WAHS members free
