LANSING, Mich. — Set under the silks of a circus tent, director Meghan Eldred-Woolsey has assembled a mysterious troupe of players; a delightful blend of new and familiar faces for the mesmerizing musical, Pippin. The charismatic leading player (Rachael Cupples) leads the story telling, weaving the tale of Pippin (Adam Woolsey) a young prince searching for the extraordinary. The leading player and her troupe of circus performers follow Pippin through war, death, and love before asking him to choose between the simple yet fulfilling life or continuing to live a life of magic and extraordinary.
Supported by the talented John Dale Smith in his standard office, musical direction, the familiar music and lyrics of Stephen Schwartz and book by Roger O. Hirson come to life under the Rotary Main Stage big top. Audiences will be delighted by choreography from Amanda Tolstam and the talents of nearly twenty Lansing performers.
Riverwalk Theatre would like to remind you that this production is not recommended for young audiences and encourages parental discretion due to mature situations, strong sexual content and violence. Pippin opens Riverwalk’s 31st season on August 29th and runs for two weekends.
