LANSING, Mich. — If your camper’s schedule doesn’t permit a week of camp, they can still connect with nature at the Harris Nature Center, 3998 Van Atta Road by participating in a One-day Nature Camp for children entering kindergarten through 6th grades on August 8th and 9th. The camps meet from 9 am to 3 pm and have a $32 fee. All campers will receive a camp tee shirt. Campers must bring a sack lunch and should dress for the weather. For more information, contact or 517.349.3866.

“These camps are jam-packed with nature experiences,” said Senior Park Naturalist Kati Adams. “Kids will spend time exploring in the outdoors, meeting lots of animals and making a nature connection that they will always remember.”

The camps also include games, crafts, nature activities and time with live animals. Registration for all Nature Camps is ongoing.

One-day Nature Camps include the themes Insect Adventures and Frogs and Friends for kids entering kindergarten and 1st grade; River Rascals and Animal World for kids entering 2nd and 3rd grades; Rock Hounds and Wildlife Explorers for kids entering 4th through 6th grades. Please call or check the Meridian Township website for the exact dates of each camp.
