LANSING, Mich. — Escape cabin fever by visiting the Lansing Model Railroad Club’s annual winter open house. Model trains will be running on the club’s beautiful HO scale layout complete with cities, industrial scenes, rolling country sides, mountains, and bridges. Visitors can get a birds-eye view of all the action from an overhead walkway.
Construction is underway on the layout expansion project, which consists of three different levels. The expansion will increase train operations, add more cities, add more industries, and include a large passenger train terminal modeled after the former Detroit Fort Street Union Depot. This is a great opportunity for people interested in building a model railroad to learn how it is done. Also, see the club's progress on restoring the former Michigan Avenue (MA) Tower that was moved in September 2016.
