East meets West at a special Lingenfelter Cars & Coffee weekend, July 20 and 21. Car enthusiasts start each summer weekend enjoying auto “show and tell” during Lingenfelter Cars & Coffee Powered by LaFontaine Automotive Group [familydeal.com]Series at Lingenfelter’s North Engine Build Facility in Wixom. For the second year, a weekend has been set aside for participants to spend two days sharing “everything auto” with others in and around Lansing.
On Saturday, July 20, West will meet East at Lingenfelter’s North Engine Build Facility as hundreds of car lovers gather to show off their auto designs and see the latest and greatest in performance cars from Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. In addition, this morning is set aside to celebrate Women in Automotive. Founding women family members of LaFontaine Automotive Group and women in management, will be available to speak about their journey and the many opportunities for women in the automotive industry.
The next day, Sunday, July 21, all are invited to meet up again – but in the Lansing area. Henry’s Place on Marsh Rd in Okemos will be the place to convene. Attendees will enjoy a cup of coffee while they visit with those they missed meeting on Saturday. Henry's Place is also offering a breakfast special with proceeds benefiting the Greater Lansing Food Bank.
“This is a great opportunity to be introduced to other car enthusiasts in the state,” said Kevin Bell, Lansing Cars & Coffee director. “Last year, participants had a great time sharing new ideas in car design and witnessing what others had changed on their cars. It is by popular demand that we bring this event back again this year.”
Cars & Coffee will be held rain or shine. While there is no fee to participate in either event, guests are asked to bring nonperishable food items, or make a monetary donation, to a local food bank: Gleaners Community Food Bank (Saturday) and The Greater Lansing Food Bank (Sunday).
“Greater Lansing Food Bank's mission is to partner to alleviate hunger one meal at a time, in order to create a future where everyone has access to nourishing food,” said Kim Harkness, director of operations for the Greater Lansing Food Bank. “Our partnership with the Lingenfelter Cars & Coffee Series will bring awareness and food to our local communities. Thank you for being a part of our mission!”
