LANSING, Mich. — If your camper’s schedule doesn’t permit a week of camp, they can still connect with nature at the Harris Nature Center, 3998 Van Atta Road by participating in a two-day nature camp for children entering kindergarten through 6th grades on June 18th-19th and June 20th-21st. The camps meet from 9 am to 3 pm and have a $65 fee. All campers will receive a camp tee shirt and should dress for the weather. For more information, contact hnc@meridian.mi.us or 517.349.3866.
“Two-day camps allow families to choose a two or four day camp experience for their children,” said Senior Park Naturalist Kati Adams. “Kids will spend time exploring in the outdoors, meeting lots of animals and making a nature connection that they will always remember.”
The camps also include games, crafts, nature activities and time with live animals. These Two-day Nature Camps will be repeated later in the summer. Two-day Camps include themes of Animal Seekers and Feathery Friends for kids entering kindergarten and 1st grade; Bug Catchersand Grossology for kids entering 2nd and 3rd grades; River Explorers and Nuts about Nature for kids entering 4th through 6th grades.
Please call or check the Meridian Township website for the exact dates of each camp. Registration for all Nature Camps is ongoing, although some camp dates may already be full.
