LANSING, Mich. — First Presbyterian Church of Holt will host Lansing Church of God in Christ for World Communion Sunday at 2021 N. Aurelius Road, Holt, MI on October 6, 2019. This is part of the ongoing partnership between the two congregations to build relationship across racial divides.

First Presbyterian Church of Holt is proud to host Lansing Church of God in Christ for World Communion Sunday (WCS). WCS was started in 1933 by a Presbyterian minister in Pittsburgh, PA and has grown into an annual international event among dozens of Christian denominations. This year, the predominately white First Presbyterian Church of Holt will be celebrating WCS with the predominately black Lansing Church of God in Christ as part of their partnership to “bridge the racial divide”. For over a year, the two congregations have been building relationship through prayer, worship, and art. In June 2019, the congregations celebrated Pentecost together through an arts festival. This is the next event in their intentional efforts to confront racism through faith-based relationships.

More details about the event:

  • Worship will begin at 10:30am in the sanctuary of First Presbyterian Church of Holt at 2021 N. Aurelius Rd. Holt, MI 48842
  • There will be a lunch following worship
  • There will be additional parking across the street at Holt Plaza
