LANSING, Mich. — Bring your lawn chairs and blankets to downtown Mason at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday evening, August 22 and enjoy the sounds of the Cloud Hoppers. This popular local band is making their debut appearance as part of the Thursday Night Live Courthouse Concerts, now in their fifteenth season. The free concert is hosted by the Mason Area Chamber of Commerce and is sponsored by the Michigan Steam Engine & Threshers Club.

This is the sixth concert that the Mason Area Chamber of Commerce has had so far this year in their summer series of free live musical entertainment presented by Independent Bank on select Thursday evenings. The remaining 2019 outdoor concerts take place at 6:00 p.m. on the Ingham County Courthouse lawn in downtown Mason on August 22, and September 5 and 19, weather permitting.

The Mason Optimist Club will be selling hot dogs, chips and pop nearby, so families can enjoy a picnic dinner during the concert. Many concert-goers stop by restaurants and stores in Mason before and afterwards. “The Chamber hosting Thursday Night Live! Courthouse Concerts again is a way to bring more fun and excitement to downtown Mason,” said Beth Yeider of Independent Bank, chair of the committee organizing the concerts.

While many of the concert performers in the series are returning for encore performances, the Cloud Hoppers are a new addition. “We also thank our sponsors and volunteers and want to let folks know that we can bring these concerts to our visitors and residents only through the generosity and the assistance of the City of Mason and Ingham County,” she added.

On September 5, the Twilight Memories Big Band will be back this year to play swing era classics. The entertainment series concludes with the Mason High School Band on Thursday, September 19, led by Beth Bousfield, MHS Band director. The Mason High School Cheer Squad will join them in the program sponsored by CP Federal Credit Union. All concerts are weather permitting.

The Cloud Hoppers will also be back in downtown Mason to play on Saturday, August 24 during the tenth annual Sun Dried Music Fest. Two other bands in the TNL series earlier this year will also play that day: The Backwoods Band and The Sea Cruisers.
