LANSING, Mich. — For the Summer of 2019 Lansing Art Gallery & Education Center will partner with the City of Lansing’s Parks & Recreation Department to bring the second year of ARTpath to Lansing. ARTpath has doubled its scope of work this year bringing 20 temporary, site-specific art works along a 3.5 mile stretch of the Lansing River Trail – from Old Town through Downtown Districts, to REO Town and beyond. An estimated 50,000 visitors will enjoy the River Trail during the duration of this project.
The kick off event on Friday, June 7 will begin at 6 p.m. at the Historic Turner Dodge House in Old Town, Lansing with remarks from Lansing Mayor Andy Schor, Executive Director Barb Whitney.
The community is welcome to walk, jog, bike or kayak the trail! The artists will be on site for the community to meet and learn more about their work. Bike decorating will be available and food vendors will be on site.
ARTpath is supported in part by the City of Lansing's Parks & Recreation Department, Tri-County Regional Planning Commisson, Greater Lansing Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Arts Council of Greater Lansing, Michigan Economic Development Corporation, Ingham County, and Redhead Design Studio.
