Around Town 7/28/17: Events happening in Jackson this weekend

Chicken wing and beer lovers make want to take a drive to Jackson this weekend. On Saturday, the city's new Buffalo Wild Wings location will open its doors. The first 100 people in line will get a coupon book for one order of wings per week for a year. Doors at the location next to Jackson Crossing with open at 10 a.m.  

Scottish pride will be on display in Jackson at the inaugural Jackson Highland Games. The event features nine different types of including the Caber Toss, Stone Put and Scottish Hammer Throw. Things get started at 9 a.m. Saturday morning at Ella Sharp Park.  

Hundreds of kids will try and conquer a 2,000 foot long obstacle course. The Sheep Dog Splash Dash is set for 9 a.m. Saturday at Westwinds Community Church and Paragon Charter Academy in Jackson.  Children in first through eighth grades will try to run through more than 15 obstacles. Registration is $15. People can also bring their dogs for an owner and dog run.
