Mark your calendars because starting on Thursday, Yankee Doodle Days are back in Grand Ledge.
The event runs through June 18th and features parades, live music, fireworks, and a petting zoo for kids. For the full event schedule, check grandledgechamber.com.
Also happening this weekend is the 21st Annual Mayor's Family Riverwalk. You can join Mayor Virg Bernero at a three mile walk that starts at Potter Park Zoo and ends at Maguire Park.
The first 1,000 walkers are going to get a free t-shirt.
Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. and the walk begins at 9 a.m. The event hopes to educate the community about the benefits of family exercise while having a little fun.
