Aquinas College [aquinas.edu] has established scholarship programs to provide opportunities for students interested in several popular academic student organizations on campus.

Starting fall 2021, students of any major can earn scholarships of up to $2,000 for participation in the College’s Model United Nations [aquinas.edu], Model Arab League and music ensembles [aquinas.edu].

“The Model United Nations and Model Arab League provide extraordinary experiences for Aquinas College students, and our music ensembles are at the creative heart of the College,” said Provost Steve Germic. “We want to do all we can to grow these programs and make them available to students regardless of economic circumstances.”

Aquinas College has one of the finest Model United Nations and Model Arab League programs in the country, in which students develop and demonstrate skills in diplomacy, negotiation, problem-solving, public speaking, and compromise — all skills valued by employers and graduate programs.

Aquinas College’s Model UN organization has a long tradition of success. Students practice all the skills of diplomacy, negotiation, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution while representing delegates in myriad United Nations committees and agencies. The Model UN experience has helped hundreds of Aquinas students in their future endeavors, including entry into graduate programs at Harvard University, Johns Hopkins University and Rutgers University, to name a few.

Students of any academic major can earn annual scholarships through participation in the Model United Nations Collegiate Conference in the fall, the Model Arab League Collegiate Conference in the spring, and helping to organize and lead the AQMUN High School Conference in the spring.

Additionally, students of any academic major can earn annual scholarships through participation in Aquinas College music ensembles — College Band, Jazz Band, Chamber Strings, College Chorus, Collegiate Singers and Women’s Chorus.

The performing groups provide opportunities for music excellence, creativity, artistic expression, technical growth, dedication and performance in addition to a variety of concerts and event collaborations each year.

Aquinas College is an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music, the gold standard for creating and maintaining the highest levels of quality of higher education music programs. Members of the ensembles will find themselves at the heart of campus-wide celebrations, from Homecoming, the Brookby Ball, and A Service of Lessons and Carols, to festivities honoring the College’s patron saint, Medieval theologian St. Thomas Aquinas, Spring Jazz Night, and the Baccalaureate Mass.

Scholarships for Model UN, Model Arab League and music ensembles are renewable each year. Interested students should contact an Aquinas College admissions [aquinas.edu] counselor for more information and submit their FAFSA.
