What do you think you'll be doing at 87 years old?
Resting? Playing chess? Knitting? At 87 years old, Charles Baker is a builder, and he's been building all of his life.
"I don't like to be sitting bored and do nothing. I like to do it. If I was young enough, I'd build a house," he said.
He's built eight of them already and by himself. He even built the house he and his wife, Elda, are currently living in when he was 70.
At 71, he built a barn, and now he's building another.
Charles' wife, Elda Baker, said she's been right by his side to lend a helping hand every time.
"I say, "I'll do it."and I get on a ladder and push it up,"she said.
She said his passion for building has not only kept him going, but played a part in keeping their marriage strong.
"It's been an interesting life...65 years we've been married in June," she added.
Charles' tenacity helped him learn many lessons, he even does his own plumbing and electricity. Everything you see is a result of being self taught, but he said the biggest lesson of all is quite simple.
"Not be afraid to make a mistake because you learn," he said
The next step is shingles on the roof.
