LANSING, Mich. — Good Friday morning!
The clouds will thicken up today as our weekend low pressure system approaches the area. Plan for skies to become cloudy today with highs in the mid 40s. Mid-Michigan will remain on the warm side of the low, meaning this will be a rain event for us. The heavy snow and cold air will be over the Northern Lower as this system comes through. Rain showers will build in this evening and continue to become more widespread during the overnight hours. Saturday will be a cloudy and rainy day with moderate to heavy rain possible at times. Temperatures will be in the 40s for highs on Saturday, dropping into the upper 20s to near 30 degrees Saturday night. As the low pulls away from the Great Lakes Region, colder air will move in for Sunday. High temperatures on Sunday only be in the low to mid 30s with a few scattered snow showers possible.
Most of next week looks fairly quiet with near-normal temperatures in the low to mid 30s. Monday will be partly cloudy, and then more clouds are expected to be around on Tuesday and Wednesday.
