Warm Tomorrow with Showers then a Major Weather Pattern Shift Next Week

LANSING, Mich. — Good Saturday evening everyone! It was a gorgeous day across Mid-Michigan with lots of sun and continued unseasonable warmth. Expect the warmth to continue for one more day before a major pattern change ensues for the coming workweek.

High clouds have thickened up considerably over the past few hours ahead of an approaching cold front that will ultimately move through late tomorrow. Ahead of the front, winds will be quite gusty tonight into tomorrow morning out of the southwest, so we will stay mild overnight with lows only falling into the mid 60's. Tomorrow, the cloud deck lowers and eventually showers and maybe a rumble of thunder arrives by the late afternoon and evening hours and then continues into Monday.

Behind the front, MUCH cooler air begins to funnel into the state and temperatures will drop a few degrees each day with low 50's for highs expected by the end of the next workweek. Each day next week will feature at least a small chance for rain as cool air moves over a warm Lake Michigan providing scattered lake effect rain showers.

Keep the jacket AND umbrella handy each day next week!
