LANSING, Mich. — A few showers and thunderstorms will roll through tonight, but then dissipate quickly in time for Sunday morning. Sunday will warrant abundant sunshine and the beginning of a stretch of unseasonably warm and muggy air that will stick around through much of the next workweek. It looks like Memorial Day will start out quite nice but I think we see a chance for pop up showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon/early evening hours as temperatures soar into the mid 80s! A stalled frontal boundary sets up Tuesday through Thursday leading to mostly cloudy skies and a chance for showers and thunderstorms each afternoon/evening as instability builds along the boundary. The front finally drops south of us on Friday allowing high pressure to build out of Canada, which will bring drier and cooler air to finish out the workweek.
