LANSING, Mich. — The forecast: A cooler area of high pressure to our north and west continues to build into the Great Lakes. This will allow for more sunshine, but also slightly colder temperatures with a north to northeast flow to it. Our best sunshine chances will be today and Saturday, with clearing and the coldest overnight temperatures happening Friday night into Saturday morning. We also expect some lake effect cloudiness from a moisture feed off Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay...giving us some cloud cover today, co-mingled with some sunshine. There could be an appreciable push of sharply colder air from Canada late next week/weekend, bringing snow chances back to the area. The earliest we will likely see anything appreciable falling from the sky will be next Thursday. Have a good weekend.

TODAY: Partly cloudy to partly sunny. Highs in the lower 30s. Northeast/north wind at 5 to 10 mph.

TONIGHT: Clear to partly cloudy. Sharply colder! Lows in the middle/upper teens. North-northeast winds at 5 to 10 mph.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny. Highs in the lower/middle 30s. Winds north at 5 to 10 mph.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower/middle 30s.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the lower 30s.
