LANSING, Mich. — Overcast with off and on drizzle today before we clear out for part of the weekend. Today expect mostly cloudy skies with the chance for light drizzle mainly early in the day as a cold front moves through the area. Highs reach the mid 40s this afternoon. Skies will begin to clear out overnight with low temperatures falling down to around 30 degrees.
The weekend looks nice with plenty of sunshine tomorrow. Mostly sunny Saturday with highs in the mid 40s. Starting sunny Sunday then seeing increasing clouds that evening. Highs Sunday afternoon in the upper 40s.
Next week looks more like winter. An area of low pressure will move south the state and bring with it snow and windy conditions Monday and Tuesday. Snow will begin Monday morning and continue through Tuesday evening. About 2-4″ of accumulation look possible in the Lansing and Jackson area with potentially higher amounts near Detroit.
The storm moves east Wednesday, but we will likely see lake effect snow flurries off and on through the day. Temperatures early next week will be cold with highs in the mid 30s. Thursday looks to be dry with mostly cloudy skies and highs in the upper 30s.
