Sunshine and HEAT, the Theme of the Next 7 days

LANSING, Mich. — Hopefully you are enjoying your 4th of July celebrations out there as the weather is sure cooperating with us!

With a ridge of high pressure still firmly in control, we will see continued sunshine through the weekend with just a few daytime cumulus clouds popping up. Beneath the ridge, unseasonably warm air continues to surge into Mid-Michigan with high temps expected to climb above 90 degrees each day through at least the next 7 days.

We stick with mostly sunny skies through the weekend and for the beginning of the next work week, but by Tuesday, very humid air begins to pump in from the south. This moist air mass will bring a chance for a shower or thunderstorm each afternoon but it isn't until next Friday when we finally see a more widespread chance for precipitation. Another consequence of the increased moisture will be very high heat indices (Real feel of the air) possibly surpassing the 100-degree mark from Tuesday onward.

Enjoy the continued stretch of nice weather, but stay cool!
