LANSING, Mich. — After a chilly start to the week, we have warmer air building into the region today that will stick around through the upcoming weekend.

Our Election Day forecast features mostly sunny skies with high temperatures rising into the upper 50s to near 60 degrees this afternoon. Skies are expected to remain mostly clear tonight and low temperatures will be fairy mild for early November, only dropping into the mid 40s.

Temperatures will continue to warm up as we go into the middle of the week. Highs will be well above average on Wednesday with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the mid 60s. A few more clouds will build in for Thursday, but temperatures will remain warm in the mid 60s.

The nice weather continues into the end of the week and through this weekend. Plan on partly cloudy skies Friday and mostly sunny skies Saturday with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Sunny skies turn partly cloudy on Sunday, but it will be the warmest day of the week with highs getting close to 70 degrees.

A few light rain showers move through the region Monday, but the warm air sticks around with highs in the mid 60s. The rain will be followed by cooler air for most of next week.
