LANSING, Mich. — Sunny and mild as we start the new work week. It should be beautiful today with sunny skies and highs in the low 70s, pretty close to average for late September. There will be some haze so the sunshine will be a bit filtered this afternoon, but overall still a nice day. Mainly clear tonight with just a few clouds, low temperatures drop into the upper 40s.
Tuesday is the first official day of fall. The Autumnal equinox starts at 9:30 A.M. signaling the start of astronomical fall. It will be another nice day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 70s. Mainly clear Tuesday night with lows in the mid 50s.
Wednesday through Saturday will be dry and warm. Going from mostly sunny to partly cloudy Wednesday and almost feeling more like summer with high temperatures in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Mostly sunny both Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid 70s. Another mostly sunny day Saturday and warm with highs once again in the upper 70s.
Things begin to change on Sunday. Scattered showers will start late overnight Saturday increasing in coverage and intensity Sunday morning. Rain and a few thunderstorms will then last through the day Sunday bringing in some heavy rain. Showers will taper off some Sunday evening. Slightly cooler with the rain Sunday as highs only reach the low 70s. It will be much cooler next week as highs look to only reach the mid 60s.
