LANSING, Mich. — A nice start to the work week and beautiful as we close out the month of August. Mostly sunny skies today with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees this afternoon. Near normal temperatures for the final day of the month and a pleasant day overall. Increasing clouds tonight as a few showers move across Lake Michigan, we should stay dry overnight as rain will fizzle out once it moves inland. Low temperatures overnight fall into the low 60s and it will be comfortable with low humidity.
Tuesday will begin dry under mostly cloudy skies. Rain moves in Tuesday afternoon with thunderstorms developing Tuesday evening. Highs reach to around 80° Tuesday afternoon. Scattered thunderstorms and showers will continue overnight and last through the morning hours Wednesday before we dry out Wednesday afternoon. Highs once again reach to around 80 degrees Wednesday.
Thursday should remain dry with dry air in place, it will be partly cloudy with highs in the low 80s. Friday the sunshine returns and it comes with cooler temperatures. Mostly sunny Friday with highs in the low 70s. More sunshine Saturday with highs in the mid 70s. Dry through Sunday afternoon with highs in the upper 70s, before thunderstorms move in Sunday night into Monday.
