LANSING, Mich. — The sun returns today , but it will be chilly. Starting under the clouds early today with clearing skies expected to take place later this afternoon turning mostly sunny. Highs only reach the low 40s with a light north northwest wind at 5-10 MPH. Staying clear tonight and it will lead to cold temperatures as lows overnight drop into the upper 20s.
Saturday is Halloween and the weather thankfully, will cooperate. Mostly sunny during the day with highs around 50 degrees. Skies remain clear Saturday evening for trick-or-treating, with temperatures in the mid 40s. Clouds will build late Saturday night followed by rain mixing with snow as we head towards sunrise Sunday. A wintry mix of rain and snow is expected mainly early Sunday as an area of low pressure moves through the area. Most of the mix with end in the afternoon, but light lake effect snow will likely linger through Sunday evening. Temperatures Sunday will be cold, highs will be in the low 40s early in the day then dropping into the 30s by Sunday afternoon.
Dry with the return of sunshine on Monday. It stays chilly with highs in the mid 40s. We then warm up for the rest of next week. Highs in the mid 50s under mostly sunny skies Tuesday for election day. Windy with highs in the low 60s Wednesday with yet more sunshine. Temperatures stick in the low 60s next Thursday with mostly sunny skies.
