LANSING, Mich. — Sunny and hot once again. Aside from a few thin clouds we will be clear through the day. Hot with daytime highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees this afternoon. Thankfully, humidity remains low so it won’t feel too steamy outside and winds stay light from the east at around 5-10 MPH. Mainly clear skies once again tonight with maybe a few passing clouds. Low temperatures drop into the low 60s, which is average mid- August.
We stay dry, sunny, and hot through the end of the work week. Friday will also be a mostly sunny day with daytime highs in the upper 80s. We will notice a slight increase in humidity tomorrow making it feel a bit more sticky outside, that along with the heat will make it feel more like the low 90s Friday afternoon so be sure to find ways to stay cool. There is a slight chance for an isolated pop up thunderstorm Friday evening, but any activity that does get started will be very hit or miss so most folks should stay dry.
A few chances for showers or an isolated thunderstorm Saturday and Sunday, but neither day will be a washout. We stay unseasonably warm with highs in the mid 80s Saturday. Most of the day Saturday will be dry with partly cloudy skies, the best chance for storms will be in the evening and most of the activity looks to stay to the southeast of our area. A cold front crosses through the state Sunday and will bring with it a line of scattered thunderstorms. Rain Sunday will be short lived with clearing taking place late Sunday afternoon and some sunshine. Highs near seasonal averages in the low 80s Sunday.
Cooler and dry for the start of next week. Mostly sunny Monday with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Mostly sunny and cool Tuesday and Wednesday with highs in the mid 70s.
