LANSING, Mich. — High pressure is now firmly in control of our weather and it is here to stay through the next 7 days. Mostly clear skies tonight will endure into Monday morning, and Monday will feature a good bit of sunshine through the day. An upper level blip of energy attempts to send a shower or perhaps a thunderstorm into our region tomorrow afternoon/evening, but I think most of us stay dry. Believe it or not, that will be our best chance for rain next week (and it is not a very good chance...). The high pressure ridge sequesters that upper level impulse moving forward then, and the remainder of the week looks spectacular with each day featuring abundant sunshine. With the increased solar energy through the week and southern air streaming into the state beneath the ridge, each day will be slightly warmer, with temperatures eventually climbing into the 90s by the holiday weekend.
