Some Rain Ahead of Heat Relief this Weekend

The 90s take a break... at least until next week

LANSING, Mich. — A much-needed pattern change is in the works for this weekend, following an abnormally hot and dry stretch.

Once the 90s retreat this evening they won't return until the middle of next week, although it'll take the next 48 hours or so to ditch the higher humidity levels.

Another muggy night is in store with lows remaining in the 70s along with small rain chances. The better opportunity for rain comes Friday, mainly in the afternoon.

Highs Friday only get into the middle 80s with the added cloud cover and on-and-off rain, with even cooler temps expected for a mainly dry second July weekend.

Monday especially appears to be a fine day, with mostly sunny skies, low humidity and perhaps the coolest high temp we've seen since there was still a week left in June.

Enjoy the relief while it's here, be it rain or slightly cooler air... The heat returns by the middle of next week, with another decent stretch of 90s highs expected to begin as we head into mid-July.
