LANSING, Mich. — Snow and wind will cause travel troubles particularly this morning. Steady snow will continue to fall through the morning rush hour with blowing snow causing low visibility and slick spots on the roads. Snow will wind down to scattered light snow this afternoon, but the winds remain gusty from the southwest at 10-20 MPH with gusts near 30 MPH. High temperatures today will be cold only reaching the low 30s. Snowfall totals will be between 1-3" by this evening. Aside from a few flurries snow will end by the time the sun sets. Mostly cloudy and cold for New Year's Eve tonight with lows in the low to mid 20s. A bright New Year ahead with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid 30s Wednesday. A brief warm up Thursday and Friday with highs in the mid 40s. Rain Friday turns to a wintry mix Saturday with highs in the upper 30s. Cold, but near normal early next week with highs in the low to mid 30s and a few chances for light snow.
