LANSING, Mich. — Changes on the way for later today. We start partly cloudy this morning with increasing clouds this afternoon. Mostly cloudy for most of the day with highs in the mid 30s. Snow arrives late this evening starting at around 8 P.M. and overspreading the area overnight and through Thursday morning. Snow will be heaviest Thursday morning from midnight through 9 A.M. with about 1-3" of accumulation by Thursday afternoon. Light scattered snow will linger off an on Thursday afternoon and evening with an additional 1-2" of accumulation. Heaviest snow amounts expected along and south of I-94 with about 2-5" of accumulations, lesser amounts north of I-96 with about 2-3" of snowfall. Temperatures Thursday start in the mid 20s before falling into the teens by Thursday evening. Frigid Thursday night into Friday morning with lows in the single digits and wind chills below zero. We only warm to the upper teens for highs Friday afternoon for Valentine's day. We see partly sunny skies Friday and Saturday. It will be warmer this weekend. Highs near 30 degrees Saturday, we'll see light snow Saturday night with minor accumulations. Dry again Sunday and warmer with highs in the upper 30s. A mix changing to rain Monday with highs near 40 degrees. Some mix or rain may linger Tuesday.
