LANSING, Mich. — Winter storm still expected for tonight through the day Wednesday, but the track of the storm is trending farther south and it is looking like it will be weaker. Today we spend most of the day under the clouds with highs in the mid to upper 30s. Scattered light rain or rain/ snow mix possible mainly during the afternoon. Snow takes over late this evening and will continue through the day Wednesday. Snow looks to be lighter tomorrow with the bulk of the snow falling Wednesday morning and afternoon. Snowfall amounts will vary greatly depending on location. Folks north of I-69 will likely see 1-3" of snow. Those in and near Lansing may see a bit more closer to 2-4" of accumulation. Locations along I-94 could see about 3-6" of snowfall with higher amounts possible south along the state line and down near Detroit. Snow is quick to move east and out of the area Wednesday evening bringing an end to the snow by Wednesday night. Mostly cloudy, windy, and colder Thursday. Highs in the mid 20s Thursday with the chance for a few lake effect snow flurries in the afternoon. Dry with more clouds than sun Friday, it stays cold with highs in the mid 20s. We warm heading into the weekend with highs in the low to mid 30s with partly sunny skies. Warmer next Monday with highs in the low 40s, but there will be more clouds.
