LANSING, Mich. — A messy day across the area. Scattered rain showers expected across the Lower Peninsula with snow in the U.P. The bigger story today though is the wind. A Wind Advisory remains in effect for the area until 9 P.M. tonight. Winds will come from the west southwest at 20-30 MPH sustained with winds gusts over 45 MPH possible through this evening. Scattered power outages will be possible and travel may be delayed. Winds will last into tonight but will decrease to 15-25 MPH after the sunsets. Winds will be calm by Thanksgiving. Temperatures starting in the low 50s this morning will be cooling into the mid 40s by this afternoon. As we cool down tonight rain may briefly mix with snow before coming to an end early. Low temperatures fall into the low 30s. Thanksgiving tomorrow looks nice with partly cloudy skies. Cooler with daytime highs near 40 degrees. Mostly cloudy Friday with highs in the upper 30s. A wintry mix moves in Saturday with some slick spots possible on the roads. Turning to rain Sunday with highs in the low 40s. Dry again by early next week.
