LANSING, Mich. — Quiet weather the first half of the day with some sunshine this morning. Clouds build this afternoon with highs in the upper 40s. Rain holds off until the start of the morning commute. Scattered showers begin early this evening and will continue overnight. Widespread rain expected overnight with steady temperatures in the mid 40s. Rain becomes more scattered Wednesday afternoon but the bigger story is the wind. A High Wind Watch has been issued for the area from 7 A.M. to 7 P.M. Wednesday. Winds will come from the SW 20-30 MPH sustained with gusts near 50 MPH possible. Scattered power outage will be possible and difficult travel is expected. Rain wraps up Wednesday night and winds will begin to diminish by early Thursday morning. Thanksgiving will be dry and cooler. Partly cloudy with highs near 40 degrees. Similar conditions Friday with highs near 40 degrees and mostly cloudy skies. Next system arrives this weekend with rain Saturday into a mix Sunday with highs in the low to mid 40s.
