LANSING, Mich. — Gray and gloomy weather returns today along with cooler temperatures. Clouds stick around through the day as a system passes by just to our south. We may see some rain in our far southern counties this morning, but most of the rain will stay south of the state line. Chilly and a breezy today, expect a northeast wind at 10-20 MPH, a few lake effect rain showers will be possible this afternoon and evening off of Lake Huron. Plan for highs in the mid 40s around midday, and then temperatures will slowly drop during the afternoon.
Skies will remain mostly cloudy tonight with lows dropping into the upper 20s to around 30 degrees. We’ll see the clouds breaking apart early tomorrow, leading to partly cloudy then mostly sunny skies by Friday afternoon. Tomorrow will be a chilly day by late October standards, with highs only expected to reach into the low 40s.
The Halloween weekend looks pleasant on Saturday, and then things turn cold on Sunday with falling temperatures expected. Saturday will be mostly sunny with highs in the lower 50s. Temperatures likely in the mid 40s for trick-or-treating Saturday evening. Sunday’s highs will be in the mid 40s in the early morning, and then temperatures will drop into the 30s during the day with rain and snow showers possible.
We return to sunshine on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday with partly to mostly sunny skies. Chilly temperatures persist on Monday with highs in the low 40s. Then we see a warming trend Tuesday into Wednesday with highs in the mid 50s Tuesday then near 60 degrees by Wednesday.
