Summer turns quickly to fall in a matter of days

LANSING, Mich. — Summer weather lovers, bask in the coming weekend. Once next week starts, the 80s are more than likely gone for several months.

The warmth and dry air this weekend serves as a proper farewell to a beautifully comfortable summer, although fall officially began back on Tuesday morning.

Showers very late Sunday (most after sunset) will start many days of scattered activity. There won't be any day-long rain events, but almost each day next week carries a chance for rain.

While this past week featured many days in the 70s and some 80s, next week promises many days in the 50s and some 60s.

Hang on, though! Mid-October may have some more pleasant weather up its sleeve before we get too deep into the cooling season.
