LANSING, Mich. — Showers overnight will evolve into a steadier rain by the morning commute, so wet pavement and the rain could cause minor travel slowdowns. Temperatures will stay on the mild side all the way through Monday, with middle to upper 40s for most of the day.
Rain will begin to taper off late, but we could see snow showers linger around overnight into Tuesday. Lake effect snow will be mostly limited to the far western viewing area, and little to no accumulation is expected. The (much cooler) high on Tuesday will top out near 30 degrees.
Even more frigid air moves in on Wednesday with highs in some locations not expected to escape the teens along with single digit wind chills. Temperatures will eventually moderate back into the middle 20s on Thursday and upper 30s in time for next weekend, when the next system could impact us with some rain and snow.
