LANSING, Mich. — Summer heat on the way for the rest of the week. Mostly sunny and hot today, with high temperatures in the upper 80s, well above average for mid- August. Winds will be calm and thankfully, the humidity levels stay within a comfortable range so it won’t feel oppressive outside. Mainly clear skies tonight and with good radiational cooling temperatures drop into the low 60s. Humidity creeps up slightly overnight, but it won’t feel too muggy.

Sunny and hot again Thursday. Highs in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees tomorrow and winds stay light from the east at around 5 MPH. We stay dry, sunny, and hot through the end of the work week. Friday will also be mostly sunny with daytime highs in the upper 80s. A few more clouds possible Friday evening, but we should remain rain free at least until this weekend.

A few chances for showers or an isolated thunderstorm Saturday and Sunday, but neither day will be a washout. We stay unseasonably warm with highs in the mid 80s both days. Best chance for storms will be Sunday afternoon, just a slight chance for a stray shower or storms Saturday evening. There will also be periods of sunshine Saturday and Sunday with an increase in humidity. Cooler and dry for the start of next week. Mostly sunny Monday with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Sunny and cool Tuesday with highs in the mid 70s.
