Hot and Humid with Evening Thunderstorms

LANSING, Mich. — Hot and humid for one more day before we cool down Friday through the weekend. Mostly to partly sunny during the day with highs in the low 90s. It will be humid again so we'll see heat index values in the mid to potentially upper 90s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will bubble up this afternoon and a few heavy downpours are likely if you get caught under a storm. Any activity today will be widely scattered so not everyone sees the rain. We see a few storms stick around overnight and it stays warm and muggy with lows in the low 70s. A better chance for more widespread thunderstorms arrives Friday afternoon as a cold front crosses through the area. Heavy rain and some gusty winds will be possible with any storms Friday. With clouds and rain it will be cooler tomorrow with highs in the low to mid 80s, but it stays muggy. Cooler, and thankfully, less humid this weekend. Highs in the mid 80s Saturday with mostly sunny skies. A few thunderstorms will be possible through the day Sunday with highs in the low 80s. Dry again Monday and temperatures will be near normal for one more day with highs in the low 80s. Warmer temperatures then return for the rest of next week. Highs near 90 degrees Tuesday under mostly sunny skies. A few clouds Wednesday with highs in the low 90s.
