Holiday Week Warmth Continues

LANSING, Mich. — Sunshine returns tomorrow afternoon following some morning cloud cover, and temperatures spring back into the upper 40s. A similar story for Monday, as well, with lots of sun and some parts of mid-Michigan making a run at 50 degrees. While not totally unheard of, this kind of warmth is somewhat unusual for the time of year.

More cloud cover is expected from Tuesday onward, but the warmth stays in place; average high is 33 degrees, and each day of the next seven will run 10-15 degrees ABOVE normal. Overnight lows nearly all week will be warmer than our typical average daytime high temperatures for late December.

The dry conditions will continue. too. The next chance for rain doesn't appear to come until next weekend, so chances for a "White Christmas" have been completely eliminated. We certainly appear to be riding the warm temperatures through to the end of the decade, with the long range outlook (Dec. 27th to 31st) expecting this trend to continue.

Hanukkah begins on Sunday, Christmas Eve is Tuesday and Christmas Day is Wednesday, among many other late-December holidays. The FOX 47 Weather Team wishes you a safe, fun and enjoyable holiday season with those close to you. Happy Holidays!
