LANSING, Mich. — Temperatures remain comfortable Friday evening with clear skies dominant, but humidity creeps up as those temps rise on Saturday.
It's another steamy weekend for Mid-Michigan with highs near 90 both days and a heat index a few degrees higher. Things look to stay dry with plenty of sun, but staying hydrated will be important.
Late Sunday night through Monday brings some scattered storm chances, which could be the only shot we get at rain for the rest of July.
A new pattern is emerging, with dry air and comfortable temperatures to round out the month. Highs in the lower 80s and lots of sun highlight next week.
Comet NEOWISE
The chances to see the gaseous streak in the sky are fading quickly. Tonight will be the best of the opportunities to see NEOWISE before it leaves us for the next 6,766 years.
A telescope or binoculars should help one see the brilliant tail. After this weekend, NEOWISE will be out of sight.
You can find NEOWISE after sunset below the 'Big Dipper' in the northwest sky once it gets dark enough. Best viewing time will be between 10:30pm and midnight.
Ideal viewing locations are anywhere with a clear view of the horizon and away from towns and artificial light. Giving yourself extra minutes to adjust to the darkness is also helpful.
