Heat and Humidity Increase Tomorrow as Unsettled Weather Approaches for Monday

LANSING, Mich. — It was another great summer day across Mid-Michigan with lots of sunshine thanks to high pressure firmly in control. As we move through the overnight hours into tomorrow, that high will begin to move off to the east and a return flow behind it will pump increased heat and humidity into the state. Tomorrow will feature a good deal of sunshine, which will help temps climb towards the 90-degree mark. These high temps combined with dewpoints increasing into the 70s will create an oppressive day for us with heat indices approaching 100 degrees. Clouds thicken up late in the day tomorrow as a cold front nears the region and showers ultimately arrive Sunday night. These showers and perhaps some embedded thunderstorms will endure through Monday morning before the front passes through ushering drier air into the region by the afternoon. This sets up a dry and sunny stretch of weather that will then last through the remainder of the workweek with seasonable temps in the low 80s.
