LANSING, Mich. — Hopefully you enjoyed your Saturday which was finally "August-like" featuring plenty of sun and temps where they should be for the beginning of August in the low 80's. A few showers/storms are moving through Gratiot county right now but fizzling out for the most part so the rest of us should remain dry tonight. For Sunday, heat and humidity continues to build with highs approaching 90 degrees and dewpoints nearing the 70-degree mark. That will lead to heat indices in the mid 90s, creating a bit of instability out there as well. As a result, we could see a couple showers and thunderstorms pop up in the afternoon.

A better chance for showers and storms comes on Monday as a cold front approaches and ultimately swings through late in the day. Everyone should get in on the action, and some storms could be on the stronger side. Behind the front, we turn partly to mostly sunny for the remainder of the week with highs in the low to mid-80's.
