LANSING, Mich. — Good Saturday evening everyone! Cloudy skies out there right now with a few sprinkles scattered about, but for the most part, any rain showers that moved over have evaporated prior to reaching the surface, AKA virga. We stay cloudy for much of the overnight period, and as a warm front lifts through our winds pick up significantly with gusts approaching 30-35 mph this evening.
Rain showers move back in by the wee hours of Sunday morning and a cold front swings through by the late morning hours/early afternoon. With the frontal passage, we will see more widespread rain showers with winds slackening a bit but remaining breezy out of the west behind the front. Sunday night we will clear out setting up a chilly start to the workweek with areas of frost developing as temps dip into the low 30′s.
Next week will be very active with several disturbances moving through and our temps will warm up but still remain below average. The first system next week brings a chance for some rain and maybe a few snowflakes late Monday into Tuesday morning.
