LANSING, Mich. — Gray and gloomy again today and it will be a split day with some folks seeing rain and others staying dry. Isolated showers and drizzle will last through the day, but it won’t be a washout and if you aren’t seeing rain it will be cloudy. Better chance of seeing showers for locations north of I-96, those south may stay dry all day. Temperatures will vary again today with highs in the mid 60s north near Lansing to the low 70s south of Jackson. Rain will taper off overnight, although a few showers may linger north of I-69. Low temperatures will drop into the mid 50s.

Thursday and Friday we will finally catch a break from the rain. Drying out Thursday but it stays mostly cloudy with little in the way of sunshine. Highs reach the mid to upper 60s Thursday afternoon. Partly cloudy skies, and thankfully, it stays dry Friday with highs in the upper 60s to near 70 degrees.

Warming slightly over the weekend. Highs in the mid 70s both Saturday and Sunday. Scattered rain and a few thunderstorms move in Saturday night with scattered showers lasting through the day Sunday. Scattered showers last through Sunday afternoon before we dry out Sunday evening.

Things calm down early next week. Mostly sunny with highs in the upper 60s Monday. Mostly sunny again Tuesday and temperatures will be a little warmer and closer to normal for mid- September with highs in the mid 70s.
